Become a Medals4Mettle Chapter Coordinator

Volunteers keep our organization up and running

What exactly does a Medals4Mettle Chapter Coordinator do?

As a Medals4Mettle® (M4M) chapter coordinator, you will coordinate athlete outreach through running and triathlon clubs, and events in your local area. You’ll manage public relations, volunteer recruitment, and medal collection and distribution, secure local sponsorship when possible, and participate in quarterly teleconference calls with other coordinators.

Still reading? Good. It’s not as bad as it seems, since you can do all these duties at your own pace, and at whatever level you feel comfortable with that fits with your lifestyle and schedule. Probably the most important part of your job as a Chapter Coordinator is that you will be responsible for ordering and affixing M4M ribbons to medals and establishing relationships with hospitals and support organizations to serve as patient distribution channels for medals. Making sure these medals get in the hands of those that are ill is really the most important and rewarding part of being a part of Medals4Mettle.

Because M4M is a young organization and relies on the generosity of others, we have a limited budget, so if you don’t want to foot the bill for ribbons and other promotional materials out of your own pocket, you will also be responsible for raising funds or soliciting donations as needed for purchasing M4M ribbons from the corporate headquarters that would be shipped to you along with an initial batch of donated medals to get you started.

There are also pre-designed templates of marketing materials such as flyers, banners, and donation box signage available that can be customized for your location. At your request, artwork files are emailed to you for printing locally at a place like FedExKinkos or output on a high quality color printer. Any personal costs incurred can be reimbursed to you from funds you have raised through donations or your chapter’s fundraising efforts.

If you have any questions along the way, M4M personnel are always available to answer your questions.

The reward is seeing smiles on the faces of chronically ill children as they receive their medals. They need to know that others are with them all the way! If you have any questions about setting up a local chapter please contact us via email.

Thank you for your interest in Medals4Mettle!
